Trent Ivey makes first start in Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
After taking a month off in preparation for this weekend, Trent Ivey unloaded the Shurling Motorsports No. G4 Rocket XR1 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 30th-annual Dirt Late Model Dream.
With Mother Nature wiping out Wednesday's FloRacing Night in America event, Ivey watched from the sidelines on Thursday as he was slated to participate in Friday's preliminary activities.
On Friday, Ivey clocked in fourth-fastest in his stacked qualifying group before throwing a huge slide-job on the first lap of his heat that catapulted him to the victory. Starting towards the front of the $25,000-to-win main event, Trent slipped back throughout the 50-lap feature and wound up 16th.
Hitting the invert just right for Saturday's heat races, Ivey started from the pole in the fourth heat race and grabbed the final A-Main transfer spot in third. Rolling off 16th in the $100,030-to-win crown jewel, Trent completed all 100-laps of the feature and secured a 16th-place finish.
