Ivey visits Smoky Mountain for Mountain Moonshine Classic

After an unexpected stormed wiped out Thursday’s Grassy Smith Memorial at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.), Trent Ivey followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the two-day Mountain Moonshine Classic. (Heath Lawson photo)

Drawing 45 Late Models, Ivey edged his way into one of two preliminary features with a seventh-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line, Trent dropped one spot in the 30-lapper to finish 14th.

On Saturday, Trent followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with the third-and-final transfer spot in his B-Main. Rolling off 22nd for the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic, Ivey retired on the 26th circuit.
