Seventh-place finish at Friendship Motor Speedway

Trent Ivey invaded Friendship Motor Speedway (Elkin, N.C.) on Friday afternoon to return to the driver’s seat of his Ivey Construction No. 88 Late Model for the two-day North Carolina State Championship. With a fourth-place finish in his heat race pinning him 15th on the starting grid for the Saturday’s $10,500-to-win A-Main, Ivey advanced forward eight spots in the 50-lapper to place seventh.
