Podium finish in Buck Simmons Memorial at Lavonia

On Friday afternoon Trent Ivey traveled to Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.) for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Buck Simmons Memorial. In a field of 23 cars, Ivey secured his spot into the $6,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group. Marching forward four spots in the 40-lap affair, Trent scored a third place finish behind Brandon Overton and Brent Dixon with Brett Hamm and Cla Knight rounding out the Top-5. The following night at Laurens County Speedway (Laurens, S.C.) for the Ultimate Southeast Series-sanctioned Ronnie Brookshire Memorial, Trent came in fourth fastest in his group, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $4,014 on the line, Ivey was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on lap 22.
