Trent Ivey
Ivey attends Rumble by the River at Port Royal Speedway
Making the nine hour trek northeast, Trent Ivey was one of 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the three-day Rumble by the River. After Mother Nature delayed the program as hot laps were getting underway, Ivey went on to secure his spot into the opening night feature with the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. With $10,000 on the line, Trent dropped four spots in the 30-lap affair to register a 22nd place outing. (Heath Lawson photo)
With continuous rain and an unfavorable forecast wiping out Friday night’s event, Trent returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. After coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish, Ivey streaked to a 12-lap consolation victory, which positioned him 20th on the starting grid for the main event. Improving one spot in the 50-lap affair, Trent Ivey recorded a 19th place finish.
