Trent Ivey Sweeps Winter Freeze X in Crate at Screven
Friday night saw Trent Ivey return to action at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) pulling double duty in the Super and Crate Late Model ranks for the Winter Freeze X. Drawing 24 Super Late Models for the two-day event, Trent laid down the second fastest lap in his time trial group before placing 2nd in his heat behind Darrell Lanigan. Behind the wheel of the No. 4G Crate Late Model entry, Ivey secured his spot into the opening night feature with the fastest lap overall in a field of 15 cars. Winning by more than a two-second margin, Trent rolled to his first win of the season over Blake Smith, Corey Dunn, Cody Overton, and Ches Chestser.
Returning to the Super Late Model ranks on Saturday night for the $20,010 top prize, Trent topped the charts in hot laps but got into the wall in his qualifying session that sent him on his roof. He was able to escape uninjured but scratched from the remainder of the Super Late Model program.
Laying down the fastest time overall in qualifying in his Crate, Ivey locked his spot into the A-Main. Outrunning Cody Overton, Trent soared to his second win of the season over Overton, Blake Smith, Henry Carter, and Ahnna Parkhurst.
