Ivey scores 10th place finish in Southern Nationals stop at Wythe

Trent Ivey was one of 35 Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals series entries on hand at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) to kick off the 12-race tour. Following the 10th fastest time in his qualifying group, Ivey logged a seventh place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main. Failing to place second or better, Trent was granted a provisional into the opening night feature. With $10,053 on the line, Ivey completed two laps before heading pitside. (Michael Moats photo)

On Saturday evening at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.), Trent came in fourth fastest in his group before placing sixth in his heat. Starting the $10,053-to-win A-Main in 12th, Ivey improved two spots in the 53-lapper to place 10th.
