Trent Ivey kicked off the 2020 season on Sunday afternoon at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina) for the Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series sanctioned program. In a field of 14 cars, Ivey followed up the fourth fastest lap overall in time trials with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Earning the third-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Ivey suffered issues with his fuel line that forced him to retire early from the 40-lapper.
